The Black Meteors of Ghana started the match on a high note after they broke the deadlock just six minutes into the game with a goal from the skipper Yaw Yeboah. However, the lead lasted for only 10 minutes as the host equalized on the 17th minute.
The Black Meteors found themselves on top again just a minute into the second when Samuel Obeng took advantage of a weak pass from the Egyptian’s defender, Mohammed Abdelsalem to send the ball past the goalkeeper.
On the 55th minute, Sobhi’s rebound header could have been the equalizer for the Egyptians but was ruled offside.
The Black Meteors could not contain the pressure the Egyptians mounted on them and on the 82nd minute, Egyptians drew level pegging.
That was not the end as they continued to put pressure on Ghana to get the winner and finally, their efforts paid off after Rayyan headed into the net a corner kick from Sobhi on the 88th minute.
Egypt has booked its place in the next stage of the competition while Ghana lies in the 3rd position with one point. The black meteors are on the brink of exit from the tournament.
