Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah who was the Director-General of the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has been asked from her position.
This came as a result of major changes going at the top level of Ghana’s Police administration.
Commissioner of Police Isaac Ken Yeboah who was the Director-General in charge of Administration will now be the boss (Director-General) of the Criminal Investigation Department.
Maame Yaa Tiwaa has been moved to head the Police welfare Department as the Director-General.
The new changes take effect from January 15, 2020.
Calls for COP Addo-Danquah’s removal was heightened when she falsely claimed that the Police knew the whereabouts of the missing Takoradi girls and were working to get the girls back to their respective families.
She was appointed acting CID boss in October 2017 and later confirmed in January 2018.
