COVID-19: Government to discharge people under mandatory quarantine

The Information Minister of Ghana Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has revealed that the goverment will be commencing an excercise to discharge those who had been in mandatory quarantine for the last 14 days. This is as a result of these people testing negative to Covid-19 after coming into contact with infected persons. These people have tested negative after two tests and there was no need to still keep them quarantined.

He further stated that the exercise is to take in motion on the 4th and 5th of April ,2020.

He later noted that the National Security Secretariate and the military are cordinating the exit and transport to their homes. For those who desire to go outside Accra, arrangements were being made to assist them to the exits of Accra.

The president believes that these tough decisions are necessary to protect the lives of Ghanaians from Covid-19 despite the inconvenience it causes to many.

He ended by thanking the persons involved for their cooperation.
