GFA anounces the start of the 2019/2020 season.

The Ghana Football Association has confirmed the start of the new season for Ghana’s football. The country has been without football since June 2018 after the Number 12 expose by Anas Aremeyaw Anas, which brought to light the rot in Ghana’s football. The world’s football governing body FIFA took over the administration of football in Ghana after the former GFA boss, Kwasi Nyantakyi was banned from any football activity.

A group of people led by Dr. Kofi Amoah was appointed by FIFA to form the Normalization Committee and they introduced the NC Special Competition.

After the election of the new GFA president, the new administration has released the draft calendar for the 2019/2020 season.  The calendar gives details of all activities leading to the commencement of the new football season. That is, from player registration to submission of jerseys and venue to workshop for clubs among others. The new season is for the Premier league and the lower leagues.

The new football season is set to start on 21 December 2019 and expected to end in July 2020. The 35-week league will see clubs battle it out for the ultimate prize. The new league season promises to be exciting as clubs prepare for it.
