A fire has gutted the Archives section of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). According to eyewitnesses, the fire started around 9:00 Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
No official of the Ghana Revenue Authority was present at the office complex.
As at the time of filing this report, four people had been identified to sustain injuries. Three of them suffered minor injuries whiles one of them is said to be in a critical condition.
These people were all members of the Ghana National Fire Service. Firefighters were having a difficult time fighting this raging fire. This is because the fire started from the top floor and spread to the other floors. The firefighters are battling this fire with little success.
As at the time of filing this report, reinforcement had been called to help put an end of the wreak this fire may cause. The Police with other security agencies were also on-site to help salvage the situation.

Professor Stephen Adei, who is the newly appointed boss of the Ghana Revenue Authority has also been to the scene. He, however, declined to speak with the media present.
Some people believe that this fire is something that needs to be thoroughly investigated. This is because Ghana Revenue Authority sent a word of caution to some institution whom the said had defaulted the payment.
We cannot certify that this is not the first time this is happening. We have had incidents in the country where public buildings had been set ablaze due to certain circumstances.
This could, however, be a coincidence but whatever the case will be we hope that the firefighters will be able to completely quench the raging fire.
