Former President John Mahama in a live question and answers dubbed #JohnMahamaLive has stated that he will dissolve certain ministries created by the current Administration.
He said that the current government size is huge and one of the things he plans to do is to cut down the size of his government should he be voted into power.
He said that the additional ministries created by the current President, H.E Nana Akuffo Addo is useless. This is because there was no need to create certain ministries when it could have been a unit under the government.
He further stated that ministries such as Sanitation, Monitoring, and Evaluation, Procurement were useless because they have not been able to accomplish anything as independent ministries.
He cited the Ministry of Sanitation as an example to his claim. He said that the Ministry has not been able to accomplish any significant objective but when it was a unit under local government during his administration, they accomplished much.
He promised to drastically reduce the size of his government should he be voted into power in order to save the public purse.
He also promised to complete all abandoned and projects such as the Regional Hospitals and the E block projects in his first year in office before proceeding to other projects.
