Mr. Kurt Okraku, the President of Ghana Football Association has given reasons why the association terminated the contracts of all national team coaches.
According to the GFA Boss, both men and women national football teams were not performing as they expected of them. It is a result of these poor performances that led the Executive Council to fire all technical teams of the various national teams.
“We have not been as competitive as we want to be in all our national levels,” GFA President Kurt Okraku said.
“We need to find ways to be competitive, bring the love back and bring the teams back into the finals and in the end, win trophies.
“This is what the council also aims to achieve that is why this was done”, Mr. Okraku stated.
The decision by the Executive Council affects all coaches of the national football teams. This means the likes of Kwesi Appiah, Ibrahim Tanko, Yaw Preko, C. K Akunnor, Mercy Tagoe together with their technical team members have been fired.
Mr. Okraku further stated that the GFA is looking around the clock to find competent replacements to fill all vacant positions. One that will yield results.
